संवाद

A Youth Initiative for Equality

Young volunteers have been on a mission with Olakh since 2012 to create an equal and just society through small acts of empowerment. They began their journey by organizing self-empowerment workshops and academic support for underprivileged children in the community. They also actively engage themselves with campaigns like SAFE CITY, OBR (One Billion Rising) to end violence against wom_en and girls.

In today’s materialistic world in which hatred and intolerance are growing, youth face diverse struggles. As the unemployment rate increases, so too does the pressure to be economically successful. The privatization of the educational system leaves people literate but not educated and as a result a generation is struggling to reconcile their values with the direction society wants them to take. They need a safe, non-judgmental space to engage with one another in an open forum which will help to develop critical thinking and put into contact with like minded people of all ages and all backgrounds.

‘संवाद’ is a series of intense dialogues with inspiring people who are marching towards transforming their vision of a humane society (equal & Just) into reality. It is a warm, non-judgmental, knowledge based democratic platform for us to speak out our doubts, fears and engage in dialogues to expand our worldview with right based perspective.

Young people have the power to bring about profound change. ‘संवाद’ envisions to create a vibrant community of critical thinkers and leaders who will initiate collective actions for equal and just society. Here, Olakh’s Youth Initiative for Equality invites you to join the ‘संवाद’
